About the Position
The Professional Development & Education Sales Executive is an integral part of the ELI team by being the driving force behind generating leads and sales for corporate, group, and higher education institution product offerings. This role is responsible for seeking out new business by prospecting for and developing relationships with potential clients from within the meetings and events industry and ultimately converting leads into customers.

Sales Responsibilities

  • Outreach to potential customers (corporate, group, higher education) through cold calls, emails, or introduction via social media platforms and industry forums.
  • Schedule meetings with potential customers to identify and understand their needs and provide more information on ELI’s products and programs.
  • Prepare proposals with appropriate product solutions that address the customers’ direct education or professional development needs.
  • Follow up with potential customers regularly to provide updated or new information and nurture relationships.
  • Maintain accurate records of all sales activities and progress in ELI’s CRM systems.
  • Facilitate meetings and assist ELI’s education teams to onboard new clients as needed.
  • Work with ELI’s finance team to arrange billing and payments. Follow up with clients that are behind if necessary.
  • Report weekly to the ELI leadership on sales results and activities.
  • Maintain a strong familiarity and knowledge of ELI’s products and programs, including on-demand library and certificate courses, pricing, and group customization options.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5-7 years in business development and sales
  • Bachelor's degree from accredited university or college
  • Proven experience in sales using a consultative approach
  • Knowledge and familiarity with the meetings, events and hospitality industries preferred
  • Experience working within learning & development, training, and professional development preferred
  • Proven ability to work independently and take the initiative, as well as within a team
  • Experience with CRM software and maintaining sales funnels
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain strong long-term business relationships
  • Understanding of sales performance metrics
  • Ability to deliver engaging and professional presentations via web-conference (e.g., Zoom calls)
  • Proficient in preparing Presentations (using PowerPoint, Keynote, Slides) and building effective customer-facing proposals
  • Access to a secure computer with appropriate software such as Microsoft Office, a webcam with a microphone, and reliable internet.

Pay & Benefits

  • This position is a full-time contract position for up to six months with the option to renew based on performance.
  • Anticipated six-month salary $30,000-$35,000 commensurate with experience + sales commission.
  • Fully remote position.
