About The Position
The Sales & Business Development Coordinator is an integral part of the Event Leadership Institute team by assisting with lead generation, sales, and business development initiatives. This role will support research, outreach, and follow-up to potential sponsors, affiliate partners, and enterprise clients; assist with proposal, contract, and invoice development; and lead the sponsor/partner care and management process. This position works closely with ELI’s leadership team.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Outreach to potential clients through cold calls, emails, or introduction via social media platforms and industry forums.
  • Review, update and manage existing CRM database and lists to identify potential leads.
  • Schedule meetings with potential clients to identify and understand their needs and provide more information on ELI’s products and programs.
  • Support the preparation of proposals with appropriate product solutions for the prospect or client.
  • Maintain accurate records of all sales activities and progress in ELI’s CRM.
  • Work with ELI’s finance team to arrange billing and payments. Follow up with clients that are behind if necessary.
  • Maintain a strong familiarity and knowledge of ELI’s products and programs, including pricing and group customization options.

Other:

  • Participate in product development, marketing, and reporting meetings as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2-3 years in a prior role supporting sales and business development.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with the meetings, events, and hospitality industries.
  • Proven ability to work independently and take initiative, as well as within a team.
  • Experience with CRM software and maintaining sales funnels
  • Experience with Active Campaign preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and relationship development skills.
  • Detail-oriented, self-starter, and highly organized.
  • General understanding of marketing and business development performance metrics.
  • Ability to deliver or facilitate engaging and professional virtual calls with potential clients.
  • Proficient in preparing PowerPoint presentations and building client-facing proposals.
  • Access to a secure computer with appropriate software such as Microsoft Office, a webcam with a microphone, and reliable internet.
